Kenneth Collins

Deacon and Minister of Music

“But I, through the abundance of your steadfast love, will enter your house, I will worship toward your holy temple in reverence, in awe of you.” Psalms 5:7

In 2013, Kenneth Collins, Jr. was selected as the Minister of Music at Rose City.  On October 26, 2014 he was ordained as a deacon. This is his testimony. “I found a deeper love for Christian music in 1989, and with life has continued to grow deeper. My passion has become to seek ways to connect on a deeper personal and transparent level through our gifts and worship to God. I have been blessed to have the experience to grow by developing and working with the “Central AR Youth Chorus”, “Little Rock City-Wide Mass Choir” for the churches of Christ, and a number of ensembles, including: “Melodious Testimony”, “Central Singers”, “For the Lost”, and “Higher Degree”.  I began my college career at Harding University and completed my bachelor’s degree at Philander Smith College.  While at Harding, I was privileged to sing with Harding Concert Choir, Harding Chorus, University Singers, and Belles & Beaus. These groups took me around the world ministering to others thru song.  We served churches in Scotland, England, Australia, New Zealand, and throughout the United States. Nine years ago I started a group called Purpose acappella Music Ministries.  Our goal is to show unity among the Little Rock Churches of Christ.  I have also been a member of Chosen (Dallas, TX) for 11 years.

With each musical experience and life lesson, I have also learned to write and create musical expressions of testimony from trials to triumph, and praise and worship. My wife Kym and I, are the proud parents of 4 of God’s dearest angels, Kyndal, Kamryn, Kaycee, and Karah.  I pray that my small contribution will be a part a major impact on strengthening the saints and seekers to develop a deeper relationship with our God!”
